To keep sealed concrete looking good, surfaces should be washed down with a soft broom and a solution of dish washing detergent and water on a regular basis (3 to 6 months).
During the initial 28 day curing process, a thin film of hydrocarbons are deposited on the surface and if not removed, can become slippery when wet.
All sealers used in the decorative concrete industry are thermoplastic and are affected by temperature.
When the concrete surface temperature nears 48c the sealers can begin to soften and because car tyres generate and retain heat while being driven on the road, the hot tyres can cause problems with marking or lifting of the sealant.
This all depends on the type of concrete ie. stencil, stamped, plain etc.
One : Sealed concrete must be given 5 days time to "cure" before any vehicles are driven on it.
Two : In exceptionally hot weather, where possible, try to refrain from parking vehicles on the driveway whilst tyres are still hot. Vehicles can be driven across the sealed concrete to access a garage or unsealed surfaces.
